Cement storage and loading
Specially developed for the long-term storage of very fine-grained bulk materials such as cement, the tangentiel Polysius silo is equipped with outlets all located in the middle of the silo beneath the central cone. From there, the discharged material can be conveyed to the packing or loading facilities.
Another type of silo used for free-flowing and fluidisable materials has a flat floor with an inclination of only 15 degrees. Carried out with diameters up to 16 m, it has the best ratio of storage volume / construction height.
The cone silo is a storage silo with very little mechanical equipment and therefore with minimal operating costs. Aeration units in the outlet zone and a blower are all that is needed to ensure perfect discharge of material. The inclination of the cone is so designed that the stored material slides down in mass flow without needing aeration in the silo.
When producing composite cements, it is judicious to use a multi-compartment silo in which the different components are stored before they are blended.
For the packing or the bulk loading of the cement, Polysius calls in renowned specialists.
